The Insurance Directorate launched the Insurance Emerging Risks Survey to a representative sample of insurance undertakings in October 2020. The survey has four key sections as follows; (A) emerging risks; (B) climate risks; (C) Irish flood risk and (D) cyber underwriting risk. A short consultation process was undertaken in September 2020 and all responses were considered and integrated as appropriate. Firms have approximately one month to complete the survey. Central Bank of Ireland (CBI) will analyse the responses submitted and provide feedback on CBI’s key observations. This exercise will enable CBI to identify areas of potential vulnerability on which to focus future engagement and guidance. For further information on the survey please see the Central Bank of Ireland Insurance Quarterly Newsletter September 2020.
